What it is
A character-consistent image generator that maintains the same person, object, or style across multiple images and edits. Nano Banana is a wrapper on Gemini with specialized controls for lighting, angles, and text rendering within images. Early reviewers praise it most for keeping characters visually consistent — the same face, outfit, or product appearance across a series of generated images. Digital creators and social media managers make up the core audience, drawn to the local editing features that modify specific image areas without regenerating the entire picture.
At a glance

“In my tests, Nano Banana did a better job at preserving brand integrity than Firefly or Midjourney. I had it create a logo (which sucked, but this was just a capabilities test) and then asked it to put the logo on different products, fully expecting the logo to change slightly on each, but it didn't. A harder test would be to train it on an entire brand ecosystem and see how it fares in routine tasks, but I haven't had that chance, yet.”
