What it is
An AI legal assistant that handles document analysis, legal research, and workflow automation for lawyers and paralegals. Legora processes large document sets and generates legal summaries, research reports, and case briefs through what the vendor describes as agentic AI that plans and executes multi-step tasks. The tool draws 741K monthly visits from legal professionals who use it primarily for document review and research acceleration.
At a glance
Legora offers specialized legal workflow automation and document analysis capabilities beyond basic AI chat. However, multiple Reddit discussions suggest it functions primarily as a wrapper around existing language models rather than offering truly proprietary technology.

“Interesting take. We're a mid-size boutique/niche practice area and doing Harvey, Legora trials etc. Hard core tech using folks look at Harvey like it was a Lego Playland version of AI. We thought the Vault was cool and coded our own internal version bound to specific clients and not cross fertilized. MCPs to CoCounsel , CourtListener, Descrybe, Midpage, and Ding Duff allow us to take a typical $3-5M budget middling complex lit matter and have maybe half to 1/3 of that in billable hours and ”
“Neither are good. We have both and common feedback from all our attorneys is “we just keep using ChatGPT because it’s so much better.” That is universal across all practice groups.”
“As you all may know, I’m pretty outspoken about this stuff. I’ve been watching the legal AI market closely, using most of these products, going to events and talking to our lawyers, and lately Ive been a part of a “reassessment” of what AI platforms and tools actually make sense for us to use going forward. I tend to write on Reddit b/c frankly this place is less sycophantic than LinkedIn. And the more I look at Harvey & Legora, the more I think Legora may be strategically f’d. I don’t think Leg”
“We went with Harvey. The prompt improvement tool, the ability to pick your sources from a dropdown, Lexis integration , and better quality drafting (Specifically in the word add-in, if you give it a base document and tell it you want a new document formatted like this existing document, the output is much better and requires less cleanup.) The ability to feed it 200 documents and use the built in table tool to build a spreadsheet of data off them. All of that makes it easier for my attorneys t”
“Both of them fudge their revenue numbers by reporting on "Contracted ARR " and it is bullshit. For example they will report a 3m ARR deal that is structured like this. Year 1 - 1m Year 2 - 2m Year 3 - 3m And the customer has an opt out at the end of the first 12 months.”
“I haven't used, but literally every single person who I have discussed this with has said it's basically chatGPT but 500x the cost.”
“Keen to understand if big law are looking to request massive price discounts or alternatively abandon Legora/Harvey completely in light of Claude for Legal, which seems to offer 80% of features of what Legora/Harvey offer for a fraction of the price.”
“My unpopular opinion is this this will become the norm. These tools are going to explode in price to the point it’s cheaper to have an in house team and maintain them. All of these products are wrappers built on another companies models - skip the middle man and build your own.”
“I’m a lawyer at an international law firm, we have been trialing both to see which we prefer. I agree overall that they’re both basically wrappers, although both have the ability for you to select which model you want to use - which is very useful as if you let the platform pick the results are very inconsistent. There are some good features like agentic plan mode, tabular reviews, and format fixers. On balance I prefer Harvey because of the interface and doesn’t crash as much as Legora, but the”
“Main issue with Claude enterprise is the number of documents you can handle at one time. The context window is limited. I have not used Harvey, but it may allow working on larger document sets.”
“Pretty much the title. I feel like not only is Legora slower in comparison to other models, but also worse at tasks all around. Anyone feel the same?”
“Legora is just a vibe coded project constantly in early Beta. Change my mind.”
“I like this aspect of Legora that it searches through various legal sections or very large files and provides concise and easy-to-understand answers. This saves my time and reduces the effort of reading and understanding the entire file. With its help, legal sections from any place or any type of document/piece can be easily searched. Information related to cases happening anywhere in India can also be searched in it. Not everyone can use it, that's its biggest drawback. If only there were a sys”
“I can't speak for the investors but from the perspective of somebody who uses them, I don't perceive them as being all that advanced right now. You can't easily plug their inference into your environment (guessing because of their upstream cost or redistribution issues?). You also can't easily use them for other agentic tasks either (possibly due to strategic lock in?), so right now in terms of functionality they lose on both ends to generic Claude for a lawyer with modest technical skill. D”
“Question here: are there any actual Legora users in this sub? Just got back from LegalWeek and they're everyhere, but I can't seem to understand in simple terms what their exact product offer is and I tend to be cautious of overhyped products Even when browsing their website I have no clear understanding of what the product is? It seems like a mishmash of Copilot, Spellbook, Zapier and CoCounsel altogether, What is it that this thing actually does??”
“I like how much time Legora saves on legal research and document review by making it faster to find relevant information and simplifying complex documents. It helps streamline drafting, making the overall workflow more efficient. I also found the initial setup fairly easy and straightforward, allowing my team to get started quickly with minimal technical effort. The onboarding process was helpful in familiarizing everyone with the main features. One area that could be improved is the accuracy an”
