Fictionlab is sooooo good. It’s almost like c.ai before they watered it down. I think the story lines are better. They stick to their characters and don’t force sappy romance. You guys should try it. The only thing is there is no app for IOS 😩

NEGATIVE reddit

I’m so frustrated as an ultra member. It’s supposed to handle complex roleplays better but it gets confused so easily. Short term memory is still ass. The newer models write more flowery sure, but not any better way than plus.

POSITIVE reddit

I swear it is good and there are really good creators putting effort. Making story cards, giving the characters deep personalities and even making illustrations for their bots. (I created two because I admire them and believe me, its not easy some even created a trailers!) even the plus subscription are cheaper and a lot better, considering I came from C.ai and been a paying customer a year, the moment I came across FictionLab I immediately get plus and cancel my Cai subscription. NEGATIVE reddit

I'm not an Ultra subscriber, I'm a Plus subscriber. I agree with you regarding the problems with Plus, and I would add that Fictionlab's main problem is the lack of a communications team. When there are problems, the general advice is to complain on Discord, which even denotes a certain amateurishness. We spend hours on Discord "in blank," not knowing the cause of platform crashes or model freezes, whether action is being taken, and especially the estimated time for resolution. Often, those who

The $25+ for Ultra was too premature for me. The image gen, as you said, was not user-friendly, and most of the time, it doesn’t work. Then the Ultra models tend to forget details just after a hundred messages—that's absurd! For the price you pay, that’s out of the question. The dynamic background doesn’t work all the time for me based on my experience so far. The memory matrix seemed to only make Oracle worse by each update. As much as the QoL was amazing, I wish the staff would focus on much m

NEGATIVE reddit

I got downvoted last week for saying this, but the inclusion of ultra will 100% cause a rapid decline in the quality of the app as a whole. It’s never a good sign when prices increase that drastically. I’m still not understanding why plus went up $1 when nothing about it improved.

NEGATIVE reddit

You might get downvoted by butthurt people because you are speaking against FL, but what you are saying is right, I was shocked when they introduced the new ultra tier without fixing the problems caused by the previous update, they are just letting the bugs pile up over and over. Also 25$ (though it's showing $21 for me, maybe they reduced it) for the ultra models is not worth it at all. The two models they use (Deepseek V4 Pro and Mimo V2.5 Pro) are cheaper than pro models, in fact both of them

I’ve been using fiction lab free for a few months now. It’s good for what it was, got me invested in my stories. Lol. Then I tried a new one, in free, it was good for what it was, pacing was chill. Nothing crazy but good enough. Then mid-playthrough I said hey, let me try one month of plus premium. And then it just completely changed the experience. It’s so damn immersive now, brought the character to life along with much much faster response times. There are different AI story tellers, simply p

Due to multiple reasons, I privated most of my scenarios before the Memory Matrix update. And I'm glad that I did. As you said, the more complex scenarios that were published before Memory Matrix now need to be rewritten. Since October, I would enforce my narrative in both the world details section and custom scenario instructions so most of it still worked. But that's 100+ scenarios to test for me and I'd rather not go through that. The fault is not mine, my scenarios worked when I originally p

NEGATIVE reddit

I think the memory matrix is where it went downhill for a majority of users. I know I read about it should be a seamless transition, but ALL scenarios needed to be revised imo. A lot of them aren't, and won't be. Some users trying out public scenarios won't realize this may be the source of the issues. 😭 I updated my private scenarios, and they work as intended. I only have 3, I can't imagine having to update 10+ of them..

From the dev himself: "If you don't like it, nobody is forcing you to use it!" -when confronted with bugs involving ULTRA. Yeah, with that attitude, I don't have much hope for the future. But hey, I hope I'm wrong.

NEGATIVE reddit

Ah yes FL. I don’t miss that place. Dev is toxic. Gaslights his community. Pretends he’s got a team but it’s really just him making the big decisions. Passive aggressive and his site will probably crumble like his first one at some point by the way it’s going. Just one example of him doing nothing Also it’s been an ongoing issue wave after wave of new people complaining but he never listens. Some of the things I’ve seen him say to his community is also very rude. I just can’t support and give my

NEGATIVE reddit

Yep I 100% agree. Also doesn't help that there is 0 communication from the dev on acknowledging the problems and giving their FL+ subscribers 0 idea of what the hell is going on. I love FL but it's going downhill fast, and as far as I can tell it's not getting better anytime soon since the dev is solo (with potentially some part time help) and only works on the platform on weekends.

I've been active on fictionlab for exactly a year, so I can confidently say that I don't like the direction this platform and its community are heading. But first things first: I really liked and still like fictionlab. It's probably the most user-friendly roleplaying platform. It's very easy to create your own universe or characters. It also supports language options, not just English but others, so for me, it's always been a great thing.I mainly created historical, war, and crime scenarios, but

NEGATIVE reddit

I do, but the issue I see isn't "just" the models or memory. It's the scenario design . The Memory Matrix update rolled out a couple months back, and it completely changed how scenarios work. I'm not on the Discord, but from what I've seen on-site? There's little to no concrete info about what's the best way to make them work. So, there's a bunch of scenarios that are old and outdated. Others that are new and still running on dense single-card formats. And that's not even accounting for how peop

Hold up it's peak I don't get ads (for now) and there's like way too much customization. And there is no "chatbot slop" anywhere, you create entire worlds instead. That's cool af. And I don't even pay for the premium thingy. Maybe I will. Depends on if the app continues to be this good. I only just started using it like a day ago so I don't have much experience. So far?
