“Complete sanity saver when it comes to YouTube. Not being able to listen to a single song hands-off without listening to two 5 minute long ads on each song was agonizing. This app has made YouTube usable again. Cannot express how much of a relief this has been, especially for those who use it while working and can't stop to skip 5 ads in a row on every 2 minute long video, but don't want to buy premium for something that used to be free for years. It doesn’t have any extensions for producing finished applications or documents, so you’re forced to manually go back and forth from chat if you actually want to build or refine something. The daily/weekly usage limits are also quite low if you’re using the more advanced models. Just sending a basic query to GPT 5.6 Sol might use up 2-3% or more of your daily quota, whereas basic chat queries don’t even eat”

“For obvious reasons the security & elimination/minimization of the non-stop bombardment of absolutely useless ads. I currently use the free version, however, if they suddenly announced a small fee for the "free"version I would undoubtedly pay for the service!! I'm not asking for that I'm just saying!! “I've used this for several years, and it improves in protection, especially from cookies and other unwanted tracking, every year. I pay for a different, separate security program that also covers my laptop, and I'm debating whether to renew it because after Duck does its thing, my security reports show there's not a lot for that program to clean up or screen out. Chrome's search results are better sometimes, but Duck's privacy protection and AI responses are far better for my needs.”

“The version 5.295.2 is awful. Very often when you search for an item, the address bar completely disappears, making it worthless. You must escape from the app and relaunch in oder to get the address bar displayed. Simply closing it won't regenerate the homepage. My previous review was 3 stars. “I wish I had switched to DDG sooner! I was a 10+ year Firefox user, and lately their backtracking on privacy disappointed me, among other changes they made. I heard DDG had had a surge of popularity and was very private so thought "why not?". And now I am never going back! I love how much more private it feels - the tracker blocker, built in ad-blocker, the option to remove AI, the FIRE button to instantly erase all your data and tabs. The layout is customisable too, so very easy to get used to.”

I love that I'm not being tracked, the lack of ubiquitous ads, and the fact that it actually loads every single page I've been to correctly (not gonna call anyone out. You know who you are.) Search results with DDG are not quite as good as using Google, but for most searches, it's acceptable.”

“Good app, good ai, relatively secure. There is one slight problem.... when you go to clear the list of downloaded files, IT ACTUALLY DELETES THEM. I just lost a month's worth of downloaded files, all because there's no "clear" list of downloaded files. please change this.”

“Okay I guess: I mean…still has AI baked into it, doesn’t it? So not really all that it’s cracked up to be. Keeps asking me to upgrade…and limits how many sites I can block? Why don’t you let ME decide what slop, if any, is worth reading? This doesn’t actually do what it wants you to believe it does, and doesn’t even summarize “blocked” trackers. Hard to see the value here.”
