What it is
Agentforce deploys autonomous AI agents inside Salesforce CRM to handle service tickets, sales workflows, and operations tasks without human intervention. Built as a proprietary system that runs on Salesforce's Customer 360 data and Einstein Trust Layer. Reviewers who praise it most are Salesforce admins and service managers running high-volume support queues who wanted to automate the repetitive CRM work — case summarization, next-step recommendations, Flow triggers — without leaving the Salesforce environment.
At a glance
Agentforce integrates deeply with Salesforce's CRM ecosystem (Customer 360, Data Cloud, Einstein Trust Layer) and automates multi-step workflows without requiring per-step prompting. It's specialized for sales, service, and operations use cases within Salesforce. However, it doesn't bring proprietary external data, and Salesforce has publicly shifted toward deterministic automation rather than pure AI reasoning to reduce errors. The tool's value is in CRM workflow automation for existing Salesforce customers, not in breakthrough AI capabilities.

“I've surprisingly found some success with it thus far (I figure it would be useful to inject one positive take in the sea of negativity in this thread). We do not use it as a chatbot, but we've had a lot of success in transforming unstructured data (call recordings and emails) into structured data for flow automation. For example, we have one agent that is operating at ~90% success rate of taking recent call summaries + emails and suggesting relevant opp field updates. We've also seen an impro”
“Oh no shit Sherlock. When your data sucks there’s not much you can do to improve results.”
“Hard to tell if this is due to AI being unprofitable or Salesforce being a dogshit fucking company with a big moat .”
“As someone that worked with Salesforce devs and partners on their Einstein role out years before they could even spell AI I can tell you that their entire data translation suite was a pile of trash then, and is even worse with this AI nonsense. To generate actual insights the first thing you need to decide is how you want to export the data the hell out of the Salesforce platform so you can use an app or platform that can actually do what you tell it to.”
“The integration pattern for MIAW + 3rd party bot/agent is not worth it unless your organization is already planning on implementing a custom messaging client. IMO the only thing competitors have been able to offer is a cheaper price per conversation. Factor in the increased cost to implement and maintain and Agentforce becomes the clear winner.”
“LLMs are still fundamentally flawed technology, they still don't scale well. They're still limited use case and the costs for the big proprietary models are insane. Smaller more targeted models that are 10000x cheaper, might have a future.”
“It's almost as if LLM are the most overfunded, overpushed technologies in the history of the world. And yet they still want to invest in building like 500 more data centers that would continue a spiral of non-value.”
“$33k for a Premier Support plan and I have to suffer their stupid AI that never resolves any of the issues and invariably tells me I'm not logged in (when I am), and ultimately always has to send me to a live agent. Putting this friction into the support process just pisses people off.”
“Good • Deep native integration with Salesforce data, Customer 360, and Data Cloud — agents act on records, not just chat about them deep tie-in with Salesforce data and workflows is the main reason to select it over generic tools • Strong governance layer via Einstein Trust Layer, appealing to enterprises native integration with Salesforce Customer 360, Einstein Trust Layer governance, and multi-function agent orchestration make it compelling for organizations already deep in the Salesforce ec”
“The company I work for switched to Salesforce about a year ago and it's been an absolute disaster.”
“I don't have subscription so can't read full article but saw this snippet: Salesforce says customer trust in large language models has fallen over the past year, prompting the company to rely more heavily on deterministic automation inside its Agentforce product. Executives say predefined workflows improve reliability, reduce hallucinations, and lower operating costs compared to fully LLM-driven agents. Salesforce says some customers have struggled with LLM “drift,” where AI agents lose track of”
“Here my take as someone with 10+ years selling implementations and having sold at salesforce: Agentforce roll out was awful and they won’t recover. Sierra and others are doing agents way better. It’s gotten better and likely improves but I don’t know that they can fully recover on agents. Anthropic needs salesforce more than salesforce needs Anthropic. Models will become the commodity - other models are already outperforming Claude and they can be much cheaper. There’s no moat for Claude h”
“Signature Support is legit. I don't know what our spend is. I'm sure it's borderline outrageous, but from personal experience it's night and day.”

“My experience: Opened a case via Agentforce — because nothing says “we value your time” like a bot that can’t actually solve anything. But the real masterpiece? When I dared to comment on my own case, a rep swooped in to inform me that since the bot birthed the case, only the bot may speak to it. Apparently, commenting on your own support ticket requires a spiritual journey back through Agentforce chat. Kafka would be proud. 👏”
“33k for premier and you still get routed through the AI chatbot is insane. the whole point of paying premium support prices is to skip the runaround. the fact that agentforce is the first thing you hit when you're already paying for human support tells you everything about salesforce's priorities right now -- they want to prove AI adoption numbers even at the cost of customer experience. have you tried the direct case submission link to bypass it?”
“I like Salesforce Agentforce for its ease of use in deployment and the flexibility it offers to expand our sales team with agents. I appreciate the ability to deploy new sales reps without hiring new headcount and I find the multi-agent deployment fascinating as it allows us to mirror our sales team and see how agents can enhance our human sales capabilities. The ability to analyze and contextualize data from conversations is incredibly powerful for enabling and empowering our sales team. I thin”
“My company had a hands-on demo with Salesforce where their literal trained staff was trying to demonstrate the product, and despite it being a brand new product, it felt like some clunky 90s software. Clicking 5 million buttons in their insanely slow UI to do anything.”
“pardon my language, but it is a bazaar experience. you need to login every time you open it. you click and for links on the trailhead site it redirects to the trailhead go application but then it again asks to login for so many times. that is useless and time consuming. I can take the hands on challenge on the application as I am using it on my mobile it is hard to access the trailhead playground on the mobile browser. is there any way I can take the hands on challenge on the mobile application.”
“Best e-learning app I have ever used. Not only for Salesforce fans like me. Update: After one of the recent updates, the app is broken - every day it asks me to log in again to get access to content. Please fix it.”

Questions
Agentforce is Salesforce's autonomous AI agent platform that deploys intelligent agents to handle customer service, sales, and employee support tasks 24/7. Unlike traditional rule-based chatbots, it uses the Atlas Reasoning Engine to break down complex requests, reason through solutions, and take actions autonomously across your Salesforce CRM and connected systems.
Every Salesforce customer gets free access to Agentforce through Salesforce Foundations for any use case. As you scale, you can purchase Flex Credits at $500 per 100,000 credits (where each agent action costs 20 credits), or choose from subscription options ranging from $5 to $550 per user per month depending on your needs.
Agentforce can autonomously resolve customer service cases with escalation capabilities, qualify sales leads by answering questions and scheduling meetings, handle employee HR and IT requests, provide ecommerce product recommendations, and manage field service appointments. It operates across voice and digital channels, accessing your Salesforce CRM data and connected systems to complete tasks without human intervention.
Flex Credits cost $500 per 100,000 credits, where standard agent actions (like retrieving order details or updating records) consume 20 credits each, and voice actions consume 30 credits. This consumption-based model means you pay based on actual agent activity rather than flat fees, with options for pre-purchase, pre-commit, or pay-as-you-go buying models.
No, Agentforce provides Agent Builder, a low-code interface that lets you create agents using natural language instructions and existing Salesforce tools like Flows and Prompts. For more advanced customization, you can optionally use Apex code and MuleSoft API connectors to extend agent capabilities.
Agentforce includes out-of-the-box agents like Service Agent for customer support, Sales Development Representative for lead qualification, Sales Coach for training, Personal Shopper for ecommerce recommendations, and Campaign Optimizer for marketing automation. Each can be customized with your specific business logic and data.
Agentforce uses Long-Horizon Runtime that enables agents to pursue multi-day workflows while retaining context across sessions. The Atlas Reasoning Engine breaks down complex prompts into smaller tasks, evaluates each step, and proposes action plans until completion, allowing agents to handle sophisticated requests that span multiple interactions.
Yes, Agentforce can access external data through Data 360 and connect to outside systems via MuleSoft API connectors and verified MCP server support from AgentExchange partners. This allows agents to pull information and take actions across your entire technology stack, not just Salesforce CRM.
Agentforce is available as a web tool and on iOS devices. Since it's built natively on the Salesforce Platform, it integrates directly with your existing Salesforce environment and can be deployed across digital channels and voice interactions through Agentforce Voice.
Agentforce includes Agent Optimizer with built-in performance tuning that identifies bottlenecks and provides actionable recommendations. Digital Wallet delivers near real-time usage monitoring and threshold alerts so you can track credit consumption and agent performance as they operate.
The Agentforce User License costs $5 per user per month but requires separate Flex Credits purchase for metered usage, while the Agentforce Coworker User License costs $50 per user per month with all searches included and 30 MBs of indexing per user. The Coworker license provides predictable per-user pricing without additional credit consumption.
